My 34th Year

A few days ago, we celebrated my birthday and as much as we'd like to really celebrate my natal day, (sadly, more like unfortunately), I was struck (!) with a stomach flu. Sorry for the information overshare--I've had a bum stomach since last Sunday (or was it Saturday?) after the party we attended. Yup, the party where we brought Robin the boy wonder and his non-superhero sister. Come Tuesday evening, I started to run a fever. To cut the long story short, I spent a few hours at the ER, only to be told what I had suspected all along; plus two thousand pesos poorer and a late dinner at Racks. :) We got home a couple of hours before I turned 34. DH had to leave again though for some party and was back by 12ish to greet me a happy birthday.

He went inside our room bearing a small metallic brown paper bag. I opened it and in it was what I've been shopping/looking for because the one my mom gave me last Christmas (and it's almost every Christmas she gives me one of these), the bills won't fit in. Happiness. :) DH specifically requested that I don't blog nor put photos of my gift. He thinks it's nakakahiya. Well. So I'll give in to his request because he's been so nice to me. Bahala na kayo maghula what I got. Sorry nalang for the photo-less post. Corny, I know.

So onto my story... After that short gift giving, we went to sleep. The following morning, I was still not feeling so great, so I woke up earlier than my usual waking up time. DK was at the computer already (waiting for me, Sleeping Beauty, to wake up) and handed me her present (ah, this one, there is a photo). She then called out to DH to say I was alive awake. Wrong timing though, DH was in the john. So oblivious (truly I was!) li'l ol' me went downstairs to get myself a glass of water. DK was excited and was pulling my hand, saying "the box is too heavy, Mom, so we had to leave it downstairs." After my glass of water, she led me to the living room where a box wrapped in silver paper was sitting on the sofa. Like I said I was not expecting another gift, so I did not have my camera with me to take a few snaps. On the wrapping paper, written in PENTEL PEN(!!) was "Dear Mommy Happy Birthday!!! We love you! From K & K" I still did not know what it really was (although it looked like a wrapped LV box... heehee... although I did say I didn't want any bag right now.), but when I unwrapped the paper and it revealed a plain kraft box, I got really excited. I slashed the tape at the top of the box. It was another box inside. Woohoo!!!!!!! And that's all I'm saying; but let's just say that re-formatting my powerbook a few weeks ago was a waste of time. :grin:
